Logo Design
Branding
Why It’s Important
Why is logo design important? Because it’s one of the first things that people will notice whenever they encounter your brand name.
For that reason alone, you need to make sure that your logo is eye-catchy and unique. The more eye-catchy a logo design is, the higher the chances of people stopping to take a look at it.
The best example of this is movie posters. If you’ve taken a look at a lot of movie posters, then you’ve probably noticed that a lot of them use the same color combinations, a.k.a blue and orange.
The reason why these two colors are used a lot is because they make a poster pop and be really eye-catchy.
However, those colors have also become so overused in movie posters. So, whenever you see a movie that uses an entirely different color combination, your eyes will surely get a glimpse of it.
That’s what a great design is supposed to do, generate as much attention as possible. And, for you to achieve such a thing, you must first grasp what a logo design is exactly.
What is a Logo Design?
Answering the question “What is a logo design?” may seem like one of the most basic questions you could ask when starting a brand.
Why? Because if you’re starting your very own business, then chances are you already know what a logo design is and why it’s important as a part of branding strategy.
We look at business logos every day. All you have to do is take a look around and there’s a pretty good chance that you’ll see at least 3 unique logo designs.
These logo designs can be anything from Uber to Dunkin’ Donuts, to Airbnb.
Logo designs are all around us. Every single business has to have a logo, be it eye-catchy or not.
And, how can you have a strong enough logo design? Here’s how:
How to Have a Strong Logo Design?
To have a strong logo design, you must first focus on visual identity and confirm whether or not your logo is a good representation of your brand.
If it is, then you won’t have to explain to people what your brand is about. Your logo can do the talking for you.
There are three simple things that your logo design should be saying. Be clear, simple, as well as unique.
If you follow those three steps AND stay true to what your brand is trying to represent, then you can be on the right path towards said brand becoming successful.
So, let’s talk about each of those steps and determine what exactly you need to do.
Firstly, you need to be clear or how you present your logo design. But a logo will never be able to do that if its design is overly complicated.
You have to keep it short and understandable. Try not to dance around what you are trying to convey and go straight to the point.
This leads us to the second point which is: Try to be simple.
Whenever you’re designing a logo, you should try to keep everything tight and simple. Don’t create a sea of different icons and words. All that will do is confuse your audience.
Yes, you probably have a ton of great ideas you want to bring out. But, when you have too much of a good thing, then that good thing will eventually turn into something bad.
So, even if all your logo ideas are great, you shouldn’t put them all in a single place. Try to only pick one idea that you really like.
Don’t worry, you can save those other ideas for the future. They might evolve into things that can help your brand move forward in a new direction. Who knows? Maybe one of them ends up becoming part of your rebranding strategy.
Whatever the case, you have to make sure that your logo design conveys what it wants to say shortly and sweetly.
And finally, your logo design should also be unique. As mentioned at the beginning, being unique can really pay off.
However, you have to also consider the fact that a lot of people don’t do well with things that are different.
What does that mean? Well, let’s put it this way. If you try to write a new chapter and fill it with new things, there’s a good chance that people will still read it because it’s still part of the book they were already reading.
However, if you write a whole new book altogether, those chances will lessen.
This basically means that you have to try and be unique, but not strain too much from the already established path.
If you do that, then there’s a pretty good chance that your logo design will be successful.
